'One Republic is an American rock band that has its roots in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Formed in 2002, they first achieved a bit of buzz as an unsigned act on MySpace before this hype helped them to secure a record deal. The band consists of lead vocalist, Ryan Tedder, guitarists, Zach Filkins and Drew Brown. The bassist/cellist and drummer include Brent Kutzle and Eddie Fisher respectively. They were to release their first album in 2006 but got dropped by their label two months before the album's release. Nevertheless, "Apologize," as the lead single off the album had plenty of success on MySpace. They finally released their debut album, "Dreaming out Loud," in 2007 with a remix of "Apologize" produced by Timbaland serving as the lead single. The song went on to attain mainstream success worldwide, consequently resulting in them earning their first Grammy nomination. The success of the remix coupled with the strength of the Timbaland name helped the band to achieve superstar status. Their second album, "Waking up" served as a successful follow-up boasting the hit singles "All the Right Moves," "Good Life" and "Secrets." They finally cracked into the Billboard Top 200 with their third album, "Native" in 2013. The first single off the album "If I Lose Myself" achieved a significant level of success, charting within the top ten in several countries. However, it was their third single, "Counting Stars" that went on to become a smash hit internationally charting within the top five in Canada, Germany, the US and the United Kingdom. "Counting Stars" remains their most successful single to date. They released their fourth album, "Oh My My" in October 2016. This time, however, the band chose to go a new direction creatively and sonically; a fact that was echoed by both fans and critics alike.'
